The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.
This text is copyrighted by the Bakers and may not be reproduced without permission.
ORIGIN/HABITAT: Belize, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. Plants grow as
terrestrials or epiphytes on trees in humid forests at elevations up to
4900 ft. (1500 m). In Belize, plants are found in the Cayo and Toledo
districts at 1950-3400 ft. (600-1035 m). In Mexico, plants have been found
in the state of Chiapas at 2600-4600 ft. (800-1400 In Guatemala, plants
have been found in Alta Verapaz and Baja Verapaz at 3300-4000 ft.
(1000-1220 m), with collections reported along the Río Cobán between Cobán
and San Pedro.
