Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range W (70-90°F)
Comments: Parent plant: One of two plants obtained from South America, this is a newly described species. The other plant, its sibling, got a blue ribbon for Best Encyclia Species at the Naples, Florida 2003 show. This plant had more flowers per spike and better flower form than the ribbon winner, but was still only in bud at show time. Like E. amicta, the pollinia are black rather then the usual yellow. Small plant.
