The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Madagascar. This orchid is found on the western slopes of the central highlands in the vicinity of Analavory and Lake Itasy. Plants grow semiterrestrially among rocks, often in almost full sun, at 3300-3950 ft. (1000-1200 m).
