The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Bougainville Island and Northern Papua New Guinea. Plants
grow on the underside of mistforest tree branches or low on tree trunks in
deep shade. In New Guinea, the orchids are found in the Finisterre, Ibo,
and Bismarck Ranges at 2600-4900 ft. (800-1500 m). On Bougainville Island,
they grow at 2950-6550 ft. (900-2000 m).
