Incoming seed is examined to determine embryo count to help decide how much seed should be sown, and/or which capsule would be the best to sow. Permanent sample slides are also prepared. Each separate package of seed is examined because these are generally from separate capsules, which is what we request from our donors.

Seed is yellow to the naked eye, and free flowing. Only a small quantity of seed was received. Tiny seeds are short, straight, and have tiny sized egg-shaped yellow embryos centrally located which are 3/4 the length of the seed.

No seed appears to be present. Upon examination a rip in the filter paper was found. From the naked eye there is no evidence of either capsule or seed.

Seed is pale greenish-yellow to the naked eye, and free flowing. Only a small quantity of seed was received, so no sample was taken in order to conserve it. Tiny seeds are short-rice shaped, somewhat curved, and have tiny sized elongated greenish-yellow embryos often towards one end of the seed which are 3/4 the length of the seed.

Tiny seeds are short-rice shaped, somewhat curved, and have tiny sized elongated pale greenish yellow embryos located either centrally or slightly towards one side.
