Flask Information
Availability: We have approximately 480 plants in intermediate-stage flasks available for immediate reflasking for you. Because the plants are already so far along, these flasks will take a relatively short time to mature.
You should: Reserve a flask now so that we can make it for you. If you don't reserve, the plants won't be reflasked.
Yield Estimate: 728 plants (based on flask surveys done 11/10/2022 through 07/29/2023)
Yield estimates are only approximate, but may appear to be fairly exact numbers because they are a combination of large rough estimates in remaining mother flasks and more accurate small estimates in reflasks.
Plantlet Sizes: From many flasks 2 - 50 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 11/10/2022 through 10/22/2023)
From one most recently surveyed flask 30 - 40 mm (10/22/2023)
Expected Flask Price: $40.00 per flask of 25 (min.) plants

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Southeast India, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Vietnam, China, and Taiwan. We have been unable to find reference to the occurrence of this orchid in India other than the type for Bulbophyllum spectabile Rolfe was found in Assam with no other details given. In Myanmar (Burma), plants were found on Mt. Victoria towards the Chin Hills, but no other details were given. In Thailand, plants have been found in the northwest mountains near Chiengmai at 4500--5000 ft. (1370--1520 m). Seidenfaden (1992), indicated that the occurrence of this species in Vietnam is questionable. Plants have been found in southwest China in southern Yunnan Province where they grow on tree trunks in forests or on rocks along ravines at 3300--8200 ft. (1000--2500 m).
