ORIGIN/HABITAT: Widespread in southeast Asia. The habitat includes the Lushai Hills region of northeastern India, the area near Lake Inle in Burma, and the mountains of northwestern Thailand. Plants are also reported in several locations in Laos, including the Vientiane and Xieng Khouang regions. In southwest China, plants grow in Yunnan Province. The orchids usually grow on rocks or tall trees in full sun at 4150-5250 ft. (1260-1600 m), but they have been found as low as 2500 ft. (760 m).
