The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Endemic to Fiji. Plants were originally collected at 1950 ft. (600 m) in the Mathuata (Nawavi) Mountains on the northern coast of Vanua Levu. They grow in shade on the trunks or in the forks of moss-covered trees in open or dense forests. They are often found near streams and along forested ridges at 1950-3750 ft. (600-1150 m).
