Yield Estimate: 430 plants (based on flask surveys done 12/04/2014 through 08/11/2015)
Yield estimates are only approximate, but may appear to be fairly exact numbers because they are a combination of large rough estimates in remaining mother flasks and more accurate small estimates in reflasks.
Plantlet Sizes: From many flasks 50 - 80 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 04/19/2015 through 03/01/2016)

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Vietnam. This orchid was first collected at Trung Phan in central Vietnam and described by Rolfe in 1905. Precise details of habitat type, location, and elevation remained unknown, however, until a recent article by Averyanov and Christenson in the July 1998 issue of Orchids . They reported that Cymbidium schroederi is found in the Kontum area near the western border with Laos and Cambodia (Kampuchea) in central Vietnam or the northern part of southern Vietnam. The habitat occurs in sunny, rather wet areas with high humidity and frequent mist. Plants grow as humus epiphytes on the western slopes of the Ngoc Linh Mountains at 4450-5600 ft. (1350-1700 m). Plants are always found in large pockets of mossy humus where accumulated vegetative debris is at least 4 in. (10 cm) deep on top of the tree's bark. Plants are rarely found more than 10-13 ft. (3-4 m) above the ground, and the largest, most luxurious plants seem to grow 3-6 ft. (1-2 m) above the ground in the forks of large tree branches.
