The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.
This text is copyrighted by the Bakers and may not be reproduced without permission.
ORIGIN/HABITAT: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Plants
have been found in Venezuela in the Federal District at about 3300 ft.
(1000 m). In Ecuador, many collections have been reported from Zamora
Chinchipe Province at 4600-6550 ft. (1400-2000 m), with a couple of
collections made in Napo Province at 1650-5550 ft, (500-1690 m). In Peru,
plants have been found in the departments of Pasco near Oxapampa,
Cajamarca below Lajas at (1925 m), Amazonas near Bongara, and San Martín
near Moyobamba at 3600 ft. (1100 m). In Bolivia, a collection was made in
the department of Cochabamba where the plant was growing as an epiphyte in
tropical wet forest on the eastern slopes of the Andes.
