The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. In Guatemala, plants grow as terrestrials on the upper slopes of the Sierra de las Minas in the Department of Zacapa, somewhat southeast of Cobán. The are found along the Río Repollal to the summit of the mountain at 6900-7850 ft. (2100-2400 m). In Honduras, plants are found in the Cordillera deTilarán, but details of exact location and elevation were not reported. In El Salvador, plants grow as terrestrials or lithophytes on the Volcán de San Salvador at 5250 ft. (1600 m).
