Flask Information |
Availability: |
We have sold all of the flasks for this item. |
You should: |
Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask. You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.
You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.
You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had. |
Yield Estimate: |
218 plants (based on flask surveys done 11/18/2009 through 03/23/2011)
|
Plantlet Sizes: |
From many flasks 60 - 120 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 04/19/2010 through 01/03/2012)
From one most recently surveyed flask 110 mm (01/03/2012)

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia. This species was first collected in the
Department of Tolima, and the type specimen was found between Frias and
Libano at the edge of the Rio Magdalene. According to Jenny (1993) these
orchids have been collected exclusively in the Department of Tolima,
mostly at about 350 ft. (100 m) as epiphytes in light forests.
Valdivisieso, Martinez, and Urreta (1982), however, reported the
occurrence of this species in the Central and Eastern Cordilleras and on
Baudó Ridge in the Department of Chocó in northwestern Colombia. Escobar
(1992) reported that this species grows at middle elevations of 3300-5900
ft. (1000-1800 m).
