Culture Notes from Donor: Pod parent plant: Grown outdoors under 55% shade on the Santa Barbara, California, Pacific seashore with temperatures ranging from 85°F to 40°F (occasionally as high as 90°F and as low as 32°F).
Pollen parent plant: Temperature range CI (58-75°F)
 
Comments: Pod parent plant: Small plant. This plant was selected for its flowers' superior fragrance.

Pollen parent plant: One of the offspring of our TN1362 effort of 1999, grown by Larry Dighera. Small plant.

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil, Bolivia, and Peru. Plants are found mostly in the cooler regions of the Brazilian States of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, and Minas Gerais. Plants generally grow on the surfaces of the ground on grassy hillsides. They have been reported at elevations of about 4600 ft. (1400 m). Plants are also reported from Bolivia and Peru, but details of habitat location and elevation were not given.
