Culture Notes from Donor: Pod parent plant: Plants are pot grown under 50% shade in summer and in a frost-free poly house in winter. Soil mix is fir bark, peat & pumice. Plant makes LARGE bulbs. I do not know if it is cold (below freezing) hardy.

Comments: P. grandiflora is fairly new to cultivation outside of China. My original stock came from Taiwan some 10 years ago. The identification has been confirmed by Cribb & Butterfield.

The plants exhibit a range of yellow in and on the tube and lip. Of the plants crossed, 1 had a pale yellow tube and the other a nice yellow lip.

Pod parent plant: Medium-sized plant.
