The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Southeastern Australia. The habitat extends from south of
Sydney northward to near Brisbane. Usually found near the coast, the
orchids sometimes grow on the lower eastern slopes of the Dividing Range,
as much as 60 mi. (100 km) inland. Plants are occasionally found as high
as 3300 ft. (1000 m), but they most often grow at much lower elevations.
In the northern (warmer) part of the habitat, however, plants seldom grow
above 1650 ft. (500 m). They are most often found in moist, very shady
areas with continuous air movement, such as ravines and gullies. They also
grow on rainforest trees near swamps and along mountain creeks.
