Comments: Parent plant: This plant came from Costa Rica and is twice the size of the other cultivar of this species that I have seen.

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico southward to Costa Rica and Panama. In Mexico,
plants have been reported from as far north as the state of Guerrero where
it was growing at 6250-6550 ft. (1900-2000 m). In Guatemala, plants have
been found in numerous locations, usually in rainforest or cloudforest, at
elevations up to 8550 ft. (2600 m). Plants in Panama have been found in
Chiriquí Province at 4250-6250 ft. (1300-1900 m).
