The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.
This text is copyrighted by the Bakers and may not be reproduced without permission.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Peru, Trinidad, Guianas, Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador. In Peru, this orchid is found in the Department of Huanuco near Tingo Maria. Plants grow in wet, mountain forest along the Río Huallaga at 2200 ft. (670 m). In northern Venezuela, plants are collected at 350-1550 ft. (100-470 m) in the States of Miranda and Sucre as well as the Federal Territory of Delta Amacuro at the mouth of the Río Orinoco. Dunsterville (1976) indicated that he had found this orchid as high as 5000 ft. (1520 m) in the northern coastal range. Other habitat location and elevation is not available.
