Comments: Parent plant: Dactylorhiza incarnata ssp. coccinea is a large (3 feet including the spike) ground species which can be grown in pots or in a sunny garden spot provided the temperatures get cold enough and the soil is well drained. This one I have in pot, but others I have in the garden where they do very well as ordinary garden plants here in Vancouver, BC.
