The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Widespread. The habitat includes northern and eastern
Thailand at 1000-5250 ft. (300-1600 m) and the Tenasserim and Moulmein
regions of Burma. Plants are also found in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. In
northern Malaya, plants are fairly common in rather exposed places near
the sea. The orchid is relatively common in Sumatra, Borneo, Java,
Sulawesi (Celebes), and many smaller Indonesian islands. In Borneo, plants
are found in hill forests of Sabah, Sarawak, and Kalimantan at about 1950
ft. (600 m). In the Philippines, plants grow on Mindanao and Luzon islands
from sea level to 750 ft. (0-230 m). Plants are common in forests with a
pronounced dry season.
