Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range I (60-83°F). Appreciates bright light. Warm, moist summers and cooler, drier winters.
Comments: Parent plant: A medium sized plant with 2-5 exceptionally large flowers. Flowers have rich color with a white dorsal sepal. The long spiralling petals (to 4 inches) have maroon warts and sparse black hairs.

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Southwest China. Plants are found in southern Yunnan
Province from Mengtze eastward to western Kwangsi Province. Cribb (1987)
indicates that plants usually grow on rocky limestone bluffs at 5900-6900
ft. (1800-2100 m). The late Dr. Jack Fowlie, however, based on later trips
into the habitat, reported that the plants are found at 4200-5000 ft.
(1280-1520 m).
