Comments: Pollen parent plant: A remarkable species in a genus known for small flowers. The purple lateral sepals are 2 inches (5.1 cm) long and 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) at the widest.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Ecuador. This terrestrial orchid was discovered in Carchi
Province where it was growing in a steep forest between Maldonado and
Chical at 4900 ft. (1500 m).
