The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Ecuador. This normally epiphytic species occurs frequently on the western slopes of the Andes. The plants have been found in Azuay Province at about 6550 ft. (2000 m) and in cloudforest between Guaranda and Balzapamba in Bolívar Province at about 8550 ft. (2600 m). Plants have also been found growing as terrestrials on a road embankment near Guaranda at 5900 ft. (1800 m).
