Flask Information
Availability: We have sold all of the flasks for this item.
You should: Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask.
You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.

You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.

You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had.
Yield Estimate: 70 plants (based on flask surveys done 02/25/2003 through 04/28/2004)
Yield estimates are only approximate, but may appear to be fairly exact numbers because they are a combination of large rough estimates in remaining mother flasks and more accurate small estimates in reflasks.
Plantlet Sizes: From many flasks 15 - 80 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 08/06/2003 through 03/22/2004)
From one most recently surveyed flask 35 - 80 mm (03/22/2004)

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Africa. This epiphytic or lithophytic orchid is found in Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa (Mpumalanga and Northern Province), Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The habitat is rather varied, with plants often found on rocks or sometimes on stunted trees in exposed locations on or near the tops of hills at lower levels of the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe, while at higher elevations they grow in evergreen trees. In the Transvaal region of South Africa, this orchid occurs in mountain woodlands. Habitat elevation has been reported as 2950-6550 ft. (900-2000 m).
