ORIGIN/HABITAT: Java, Sumatra, Borneo. In Java, this orchid is common all over the island in forests and somewhat open areas on both the drier and wetter sides of mountains at 2450-5900 ft. (750-1800 m). In Sumatra, plants have been found in almost every province at 1950-4900 ft. (600-1400 m). On Borneo, plants have been reported from Kalimantan, but specific habitat details were not given.
