The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. While not common,
this species is widespread along the eastern slopes of the Andes. Plants
are found in extreme southern Colombia, near Zamora in southeast Ecuador,
in the Departments of San Martín and Cuzco in Peru, and in the Cochabamba
region of central Bolivia. These epiphytic plants are found over a
relatively wide range of elevations in habitat described as forest or wet
forest. Most seem to occur at 1650-3300 ft. (500-1000 m), but collections
as high 5900 ft. (1800 m) have been recorded.
