Flask Information
Availability: We have sold all of the flasks for this item.
You should: Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask.
You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.

You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.

You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had.
Yield Estimate: 288 plants (based on flask surveys done 05/25/2005 )
Yield estimates are only approximate, but may appear to be fairly exact numbers because they are a combination of large rough estimates in remaining mother flasks and more accurate small estimates in reflasks.
Plantlet Sizes: From many flasks 10 - 80 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 05/25/2005 through 02/21/2006)
From one most recently surveyed flask 30 - 65 mm (02/21/2006)

The origin/habitat information below is supplied courtesy of Charles and Margaret Baker

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: From southern Mexico southward through Central America to western Panama. In Mexico, this orchid is found in the states of Guerrero, Oaxaca, Veracruz, and Chiapas where it grows in rather wet pine-oak forests over a wide range of elevations at 3950-8200 ft. (1200-2500 m). In Guatemala, plants are found near Cobán in Alta Verapaz at elevations up to 7850 ft. (2400 m). Plants have been reported in the mountains of Costa Rica and Panama, but details of habitat location and elevation were not given. In Panama, plants were reported to have come from Chiriquí Province, but according to Williams & Allen ([1946-1949]1980) they have not been collected there since Wasarscewicz reported a collection.
