Flask Information
Availability: We have approximately 350 plants in intermediate-stage flasks available for immediate reflasking for you. Because the plants are already so far along, these flasks will take a relatively short time to mature.
You should: Reserve a flask now so that we can make it for you. If you don't reserve, the plants won't be reflasked.
Yield Estimate: 490 plants (based on flask surveys done 04/11/2023 through 10/06/2023)
Yield estimates are only approximate, but may appear to be fairly exact numbers because they are a combination of large rough estimates in remaining mother flasks and more accurate small estimates in reflasks.
Plantlet Sizes: From many flasks 3 - 20 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 10/06/2023 )
From one most recently surveyed flask 3 - 5 mm (10/06/2023)
Expected Flask Price: $40.00 per flask of 16 (min.) plants
Plants proliferate if crowded, so are planted more sparsely than usual.

The origin/habitat information below is supplied courtesy of Charles and Margaret Baker

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil. Plants grow near Rio de Janeiro on almost vertical, east-facing rock cliffs at 700–2600 ft. (200–800 m). They are exposed to strong winds and almost full sun, but the roots are buried in cracks in the rock face which protects them from bright light and excessive drying. The cracks contain rock chips but very little vegetable matter. Plants sometimes grow in the tops of trees where they are exposed to maximum sunlight and strong air movement.
