ORIGIN/HABITAT: Very little is known about the original habitat. The type
specimen was reportedly found in the Sikkim region of northeast India, “in
the hills beyond Darjeeling.” No particulars are given. However,
Darjeeling is located at about 7000 ft. (2130 m). On the other hand, B.
wendlandianum is found in several locations at 660-4920 ft. (200-1500 m)
through northwestern Thailand.
