The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Venezuela and Colombia. As Anguloa clowesii Lindley var. ruckeri (Lindley) Foldats, plants were reported by Foldats (1969-1970 ) as being found in the Federal District near Caracas at 2950 ft. (900 m) and in the Pico de Naiguatá at 6550 ft. (2000 m), as well as in the states of Monagas and Táchira, with no additional details reported. Dunsterville & Garay (1959) and Dunsterville & Dunsterville (1988), however, reported the occurrence of this orchid near Caripe in northeastern Venezuela, again without giving any specific details.
