ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil. This species has a very limited habitat east of
Lavras and near Itutinga in Minas Gerais. This area is between Belo
Horizonte and São Paulo. Plants grow on rocks at about 2950 ft. (900 m) in
a region where the vegetation is primarily tall grass, Vellozia bushes,
and other low shrubs.
