The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia. Plants are widely distributed in the Western
Cordillera north of Popayán in the Departments of Antioquia, Chocó,
Risaralda and Valle del Cauca. They are also found in the extreme northern
part of the Central Cordillera in the Department of Antioquia. Plants
usually grow as epiphytes in forests at 5250-7200 ft. (1600-2200 m).
