ORIGIN/HABITAT: Venezuela and Colombia. As Anguloa clowesii Lindley var.
ruckeri (Lindley) Foldats, plants were reported by Foldats (1969-1970 ) as
being found in the Federal District near Caracas at 2950 ft. (900 m) and
in the Pico de Naiguatá at 6550 ft. (2000 m), as well as in the states of
Monagas and Táchira, with no additional details reported. Dunsterville &
Garay (1959) and Dunsterville & Dunsterville (1988), however, reported the
occurrence of this orchid near Caripe in northeastern Venezuela, again
without giving any specific details.
