The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Northeastern Papua New Guinea, in the Morobe District. The
type specimen was found in the Waria Valley near Gobi (Gobe) at 2950–3600
ft. (900–1100 m). It grew in cool, shady conditions on moss-covered trees
in the mistforest.
