ORIGIN/HABITAT: Endemic to Fiji. Plants were originally collected at 1950
ft. (600 m) in the Mathuata (Nawavi) Mountains on the northern coast of
Vanua Levu. They grow in shade on the trunks or in the forks of
moss-covered trees in open or dense forests. They are often found near
streams and along forested ridges at 1950-3750 ft. (600-1150 m).
