Comments: Parent plant: One of the offspring from our TN1377 effort of 2000. Unusual fragrance, not "floral" but earthy or like freshly cut vegetation, perhaps like a sliced radish. The labellum is 5.5 cm.

Charles and Margaret Baker, see further below, near the bottom of this page.

Flask Information |
Availability: |
We have sold all of the flasks for this item. |
You should: |
Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask. You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.
You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.
You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had. |
Yield Estimate: |
274 plants (based on flask surveys done 07/20/2010 through 06/22/2011)
|

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Peru and Bolivia. Distribution is normally reported to
include Peru but we found no records of collections or reports of habitat
location and elevation in Peru. In Bolivia, plants were originally
identified as Stanhopea deltoidea was later recognized as Stanhopea
xytriophora was found in the Department of Cochabamba near Chapare at 6050
ft. (1850 m). These plants grow on trees but they are frequently found as
terrestrials on steep slopes or rocks.
