ORIGIN/HABITAT: Java. Sarcanthus javanicus J. J. Smith was reported by J.
J. Smith (1905), with Echioglossum minax ( which is now listed as a
synonym of Cleisostoma minax) listed as a synonym at the time, to be found
near Salak with no additional details given. We have been unable to locate
any specific habitat information for this species, particularly with the
confusion resulting from the equally confusing synonymy, so the following
climate table and cultural suggestions are based on an estimated elevation
derived from the meager information available and should be used with a
great deal of caution.
