Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range I (60-83°F). After the usual winter rest, wait for the new growth to get 2 to 3 inches tall and then water like crazy with copious amounts of fertilizer, to achieve the largest possible pseudobulb. Avoid getting water into the new growth which will easily rot.

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Ecuador and Peru. In Ecuador, plants are found in the
Province of Morona-Santiago in the Cordillera Condor at 3600 ft. (1100 m).
In Peru, plants grow in the Department of Pasco about 10 mi. (15 km)
northeast of Oxapampa, along the Río Gramaz at 5750 ft. (1750 m). Plants
are also found between Villarica and Cacazu at 4900 ft. (1500 m) and near
Oxapampa above Hacienda San Isidro at (1885 m). 6200 ft. This orchid grows
on trees in cool, wet cloudforests.
