Flask Information |
Availability: |
We have sold all of the flasks for this item. |
You should: |
Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask. You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.
You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.
You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had. |
Yield Estimate: |
450 plants (based on flask surveys done 09/12/2006 through 07/12/2007)
|
Plantlet Sizes: |
From many flasks 15 - 60 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 01/02/2007 through 01/02/2008)
From one most recently surveyed flask 30 - 60 mm (01/02/2008)

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia. Although plants are reportedly confined to a
relatively narrow strip along the Río Cauca at about 3000 ft. (910 m),
Veitch reported that the first plant was discovered in a valley of the
upper Río Magdalena. This orchid grows in forests of short, stunted trees
that are almost completely covered with various kinds of vegetation. The
forests are found on level land, which is usually somewhat marshy, but
during the wet season, it may be flooded at times. Consequently, moisture
is usually available to plants in the area, even during the dry season.
