Flasks are planted more sparsely than usual because the plants spread horizontally and would crowd each other too much. |

Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range I (60-83°F). Phalaenopsis venosa likes moderate to warm conditions, with moderate moisture. The parent plant is mounted on cork with some sphagnum covering the roots and the mount (purchased from Andy's Orchids) and does dry occasionally while growing under lights. My conditions are not extreme, as the plant is in my apartment, so another plant in a greenhouse condition may not tolerate as much drying as this plant sees. Also, it is quite a large adult plant and may be more tolerant of varying conditions than a smaller or seedling plant.
Comments: Parent plant: The flowers are quite waxy and will hold for quite awhile. Large plant.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Central Sulawesi (Celebes) Island, Indonesia. Plants were
found in central Sulawesi in a pass west of Palopo at 1650-1950 ft.
(500-600 m). No weather records are available for the central part of the
island. The following climate is the nearest available to the reported
habitat, but the data provides only rough approximations of conditions in
the habitat.
