The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. This epiphytic species occurs
frequently in the humid, forested mountain valleys of Morona-Santiago and
Zamora-Chinchipe Provinces in southeastern Ecuador. Plants grow in
cloudforests east of Cuenca at about 5600 ft. (1700 m) and south of
Yangana at about 6550 ft. (2000 m). Plants have also been found in similar
habitats at 5250 ft. (1600 m) in the Department of San Martín in northern
Peru and at 6900 ft. (2100 m) in the Department of Norte de Santander in
the Eastern Cordillera in Colombia.
