The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Central Nepal, Sikkim, the Khasi (Khasia) and Naga Hills
of northeastern India, Burma, northern Vietnam near Cha-pa, and Yunnan
Province in southwest China. Plants grow on mossy trees at 3950-9500 ft.
(1200-2900 m), often with Coelogyne cristata. Plants known as D. bulleyi
were found on dry shady banks in pine woods at 8000-9000 ft. (2440-2740
m), where temperatures are cooler than indicated below. Plants commonly
grow at the base of trees in lower forests where they receive ample
moisture and high light. However, in mistforest zones they are found on
ridge-tops where light is high and plants can dry.
