Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plants: Temperature range CI (58-75°F). This plant was given a cool dry rest for c. 3 months through winter with occasional misting of the plant without wetting the roots. I grow it with my stanhopeas directly under a northeast-facing skylight to give it as much light as possible in the winter, filtered by blinds in the summer. The high temperatures may occasionally run up to the low 80°Fs in spring and fall when the air conditioning is not in use.
Comments: The two plants in the cross were obtained from the same source at the same time and may be, divisions of the same plant, or sibs, or two separate cultivars. I am inclined to believe they are sibs or separate cultivars as they have been grown side-by-side but the blooms are much different. 'Golden Boy's are smaller and fuller.
Pod parent plant: Small plant.
Pollen parent plant: Small plant.

Flask Information |
Availability: |
We have sold all of the flasks for this item. |
You should: |
Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask. You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.
You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.
You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had. |
Yield Estimate: |
300 plants (based on flask surveys done 01/27/2005 )
|
Plantlet Sizes: |
From many flasks 20 - 60 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 05/25/2005 through 07/08/2005)
From one most recently surveyed flask 20 - 60 mm (07/08/2005)

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Widespread throughout southeast Asia. The habitat extends
from the Sikkim region of India, through Assam and Burma, across Thailand
and Laos, and into Yunnan Province of southwest China. D. chrysotoxum is
reported at 1300-5300 ft. (400-1620 m) throughout this range. In Thailand,
plants grow near Chiang Mai in deciduous forests above 2000 ft. (610 m).
