The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Costa Rica, Panama, and Peru. In Panama, plants have been
found on the north rim of El Valle de Antón at 1950-3300 ft. (600-1000 m).
In Peru, plants have been reported from between Huanta and Río Apurimae
where they were growing in dense woods at about 1650 ft. (500 m), near La
Merced in the department of Junín in a wooded valley at 2300 ft. (700 m),
and near Moyobamba in the department of San Martín in mountain forest at
about 3600 ft. (1100 m).
