The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: South Pacific Islands. In Vanuatu (New Hebrides), the
habitat includes the islands of Anatom, Epi, Erromango, Espiritu Santo,
Malekula, and Tanna where they grow in mountain forests at 1400-3100 ft.
(430-950 m). In the Solomon Islands, plants are found in mountain forests
and cloudforests at 2600-7050 ft. (800-2150 m). In Fiji, they are abundant
on the crests and ridges of hills. at 1000-4250 ft. (300-1300 m), but they
are most common at the higher elevations. Plants also grow in Samoa.
