Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range CI (58-75°F)
Comments: A diminutive and floriferous species from New Guinea. The specific epithet may mean 'toothed shield' and presumably refers to the serrate lip of this species. However, the combining form for shield is 'peltatum' so a spelling error may have occurred when this species was published in 1913, and regardless of the error, the poor spelling would be the name.
