Flask Information |
Availability: |
We have sold all of the flasks for this item. |
You should: |
Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask. You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.
You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.
You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had. |
Yield Estimate: |
530 plants (based on flask surveys done 09/13/2002 through 06/08/2003)
|
Plantlet Sizes: |
From many flasks 2 - 50 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 09/13/2002 through 01/26/2004)
From one most recently surveyed flask 10 - 40 mm (01/26/2004)

ORIGIN/HABITAT: One of the most widely distributed of all Dendrobium
species. The habitat includes southwest India, and the Himalayan region
from northwestern India to southwestern China, including the tropical
valleys of Sikkim and Assam and the Patkai and Khasi (Khasia) Hills.
Distribution extends across Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and
into the Philippines where plants grow on Luzon at 4250-4900 ft.
(1300-1500 m). To the south, the habitat continues through Malaya,
Sumatra, Java, and northern Sulawesi (Celebes), as well as Sri Lanka and
the Sunda Islands. In Thailand, plants grow at 1970-5580 ft. (600-1700 m).
In India, they are found as low as 350 ft. (100 m) in cooler regions, but
in warmer areas they may grow as high as 4250 ft. (1300 m). Plants usually
grow on trees in forest clearings.
