The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and El Salvador. In Mexico,
this common, widespread orchid is usually found on the east-facing
mountain slopes in the states of Chiapas, Oaxaca, Puebla, and Veracruz.
Plants also are found on the Pacific watershed in the states of Guerrero
and Oaxaca. Plants grow on rocks or trees in mountain rainforests and
cloudforests at 2300-6400 ft. (700-1950 m). In Belize, plants are found in
the Toledo District, where they grow on trees in wet mountain forest. In
Guatemala, plants occur in the department of Alta Verapaz. In El Salvador,
plants grow on Cerro Montecristo at 6550 ft. (2000 m).
