The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico. Once thought to originate only near Jalapa in the
State of Veracruz, it is now known to have been discovered originally in
Oaxaca and to also occur in the State of Puebla. Plants grow on trees in
evergreen cloudforest and upper mountain rainforest at 4250-7050 ft.
(1300-2150 m).
