The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaya, Sumatra, Java, Borneo,
and the Philippines. Plants are found in peninsular Burma, extreme
southern and peninsular Thailand, southern Vietnam, throughout most of
Malaya. They are found in western Borneo in both coastal and inland areas
of Sabah, Brunei, and Sarawak, along both the east and west coasts of
Sumatra, and in southern and western Java. This epiphytic orchid is found
in bright locations where it grows primarily in lowland forests from sea
level to about 2300 ft. (0-700 m). Plants are sometimes found as high as
4900 ft. (1500 m), however. Although reportedly found in the Philippines,
we have been unable to find any information about habitat location or
elevation in that region.
