The origin/habitat information below is supplied courtesy of Charles and Margaret Baker

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.
This text is copyrighted by the Bakers and may not be reproduced without permission.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Assam in northeastern India, Burma, peninsular Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. In Burma, plants are found on Madremacan Island near Mergui. In Thailand, they grow on the Thai peninsula in the foothills of Khao Phra Mi and near Nang Yon, Ranong. In Laos, plants have been collected near Vientiane. Plants have been reported near the Thai border with Cambodia at Khemarak Pouminville. In Vietnam they grow near Blao at 2600 ft. (800 m). Plants have been reported from Assam, but Seidenfaden (1979) indicated that this distribution is somewhat questionable. The only elevation reported with any of the collections discussed by Seidenfaden (1979) was for the plant collected near Blao, Vietnam. We are assuming that the elevation is similar for the other collections, but growers need to be aware that the following tables and cultural suggestions are based on this assumption, so the information should be used cautiously.
